President Christine Kangaloo will confer the Chaconia Medal Gold on the Trinbago Knight Riders, winners of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League 2025,
This was announced last evening during the post cabinet news briefing, where captain Nicholas Pooran and other members of TKR were present. Pooran will receive the award on behalf of the team at the National Awards Ceremony.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister has announced that World Gold medallist Keshorn Walcott will receive $500,000 for achieving the Gold Medal in the Javelin Throw event at the World Athletics Championship recently.
He, along with TKR captain Nicholas Pooran and former TKR captain Kieron Pollard will also be appointed as Sport Ambassadors for T&T.
The Prime Minister said the Government is also proposing to rename the newly opened Northeastern Multi-Purpose Facility in Sangre Grande after Walcott.
Also being given a 250-thousand-dollar reward is silver medalist at the Championships, Jereem “The Dream” Richards.
