The Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM) is standing in solidarity with civil society groups in calling for peace across the Caribbean.

The union is backing the Vigil for Peace scheduled for this Sunday, November 9th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Woodford Square.

JTUM says military escalation in the region would only harm Caribbean people—especially citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, who could find themselves on the frontline.

The movement warns that any conflict could derail national progress, disrupt productivity, and deter investment.

JTUM maintains that the Caribbean must remain a Zone of Peace to ensure stability, development, and a better future for all citizens.
