Housing Minister Dr David Lee says he has called for an investigation into a recent notice from the Housing Development Corporation outlining revised requirements for its consent-to-assign application process.

In the notice dated January 29th, the HDC introduces immediate changes, including restrictions on assigning properties within the first 10 years of a deed of sublease, along with revised fees for consent applications.

It adds that the changes are intended to support the sustainability of its subsidised housing programme.

Speaking with 103.1FM News this afternoon, Dr Lee says he only became aware of the notice earlier today, with the Permanent Secretary subsequently verifying the document as being valid.

He added that while it was signed by the HDC Chairman, he as line minister was not informed of the policy changes.

Dr Lee said the Ministry has no current plans related to the notice and that the process should not operate in that manner.
