Former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith accused Dr Rowley of hypocrisy stating that he used parliamentary privilege to make unproven allegations against political opponents.
Dr Rowley criticized the Prime Minister for using parliamentary privilege in making allegations about the PNM’s construction of Balisier House.
He pointed to past controversies, including the email gate matter, arguing that similar claims were later discredited and unsupported by evidence.
“(Rowley) used the same Parliamentary privilege to mislead the country and to read out lies about a fake email-gate report to smear the names of others in the hope that you can become Prime Minister,” Mr Griffith said.
“So spare the country the selective morality and victimhood, Keith Rowley. You cannot condemn today what you normalized and weaponized just yesterday. You cannot cry foul over parliamentary privilege when you used that same privilege as a political weapon.”
