Government has provided disaster relief assistance totalling $10,700 to a family affected by a fire in Chaguanas today.
The home of Jeffery Friday at Lions Gate, Enterprise, was partially damaged by fire.
The grant from the Ministry of the People and Social Development is aimed at helping the family meet immediate needs, replace essential items, and support the education of school-aged children.
Minister Vandana Mohit reaffirmed government’s commitment to restoring dignity and stability to disaster-affected families.
She said the Ministry acts as a second responder during disasters, providing financial aid and psychosocial support through the National Social Development program.
Mr Friday expressed his gratitude for the timely and compassionate response.
