First Citizens has made history in Trinidad and Tobago, becoming the first bank to launch Google Pay in the country.
The new service allows the bank’s credit and prepaid card holders to make secure contactless payments using their Android phones or smart devices.
Group CEO Jason Julien says the launch strengthens the bank’s commitment to digital transformation, offering customers faster, safer and more convenient ways to pay. Merchants nationwide can now accept Google Pay, gaining quicker checkout times and reduced fraud risk.
First Citizens says the move reflects a major shift toward frictionless, phone-based payments as the bank continues leading digital innovation in Trinidad and Tobago.
