The Energy Chamber says Trinidad and Tobago remains a key supplier of specialty petrochemicals to several international manufacturing sectors.
In 2024, Urea, Urea-Ammonium Nitrate (UAN), and Melamine generated nearly half a billion dollars in export revenue.
The Chamber noted that the country produced over 1.8 million metric tons last year, with UAN accounting for the largest share at 1.3 million tons, followed by 470,000 tons of urea and 27,000 tons of melamine.
These products play a critical role in global supply chains, supporting industries from agriculture to plastics, adhesives, and laminates, reinforcing T&T’s position as a major exporter to North America and Western Europe.
