The Energy Chamber is calling for renewed national focus to secure and expand Trinidad and Tobago’s domestic natural gas supplies.
This follows yesterday’s suspension of T&T’s energy sector agreements by Venezuela.
Noting the challenges with securing Venezuelan gas, it urged faster policies and investments to unlock domestic and regional gas resources.
In a release today, the Chamber pledged its support for the Government’s focus on energy independence and emphasized the need to boost gas recovery from existing fields and develop new fields both offshore and in cross-border areas.
