Rousillac Hindu School has been directed to be immediately closed by the Education Minister.
This follows confirmed reports of rodent activity at its temporary location in the Rousillac Community Centre.
Speaking in Parliament this afternoon, Minister Dr Michael Dowlath said a full sanitization and pest control programme has already begun.
Working with the Health Ministry and local authorities, this includes deep cleaning, sealing entry points, and monitoring to ensure the facility is safe before classes resume.
He added that once the sanitization and treatment is completed, classes will resume in the shortest possible time.
