Driver's licence

From today, persons can renew their driver’s licences up to three months before expiration, an extension from the previous one-month period.

The Ministry of Transport says this change aims to reduce last-minute renewals, improve service efficiency, and offer greater convenience to the public.

This amendment to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations is effectively immediately.

Permits expired for six months or less now carry a late fee of $650, while permits expired for more than six months and up to three years now have a late fee of $1,750.
