Social welfare cheque recipients will face delays this October.
The Ministry of Social Development says affected payments include Senior Citizens’ Pension, Disability Assistance, Public Assistance Grants, and Food Support.
According to the Ministry, unforeseen technical difficulties have disrupted the cheque printing process, however those on Direct Deposit will not be affected and will receive their payments as usual.
The Ministry says it is working with partners to resolve the issue quickly and is encouraging more people to enroll for Direct Deposit via social.gov.tt or any Social Welfare Office.
