Tobago middle distance runner Oshea Cummings said she hoped to register personal bests in the 800m and 1500m at the 2026 Carifta Games.
The Zenith athlete smashed her personal best in the 800m at the Jamaica Carifta Trials on the weekend, clocking a new best of two minutes 13.55 seconds.
Cummings told Tobago Updates she wants to better her marks in Grenada in April and explained that she needs a clear mind to do her best.
“To be very honest, I don’t really like creating race strategies. I don’t really like worrying. I realize that when i worry too much,” she said.
“So, I just go out on the track and, as I always do, I win. I am hoping to go to Carifta and accomplish another personal best.”
Cummings won the 3,000m gold medal at the 2025 Carifta Games, but has opted to chase the 800/1500 double this year.
