The Congress of the People (COP) has expressed full support for the Government’s push for leadership changes in key State Enterprises to drive Trinidad and Tobago’s recovery.
In a statement today, the party’s Deputy Leader, Imran Ali, emphasized that these changes are vital for promoting accountability and efficiency, and are not intended as political victimization.
He added that if issues like inefficiency, political interference, and financial mismanagement have become normalized in State Enterprises, leadership renewal is no longer optional, but essential for the country’s recovery and progress.
He further added that the country cannot progress with the same leadership systems that contributed to its current challenges, and that restructuring is critical to rebuilding public trust and ensuring sustainable development.
