Fire Service Association President Keone Guy is raising concern over the prolonged closure of the Princes Town Fire Station.
Speaking on TV6, Guy says the facility has been shut since June 2024 due to structural issues and a rodent infestation, leaving the area without direct fire coverage for nearly 18 months.
He says response times have stretched to as much as 30 minutes, contributing to fires resulting in loss of life and property.
Guy is now calling for urgent action, warning that equipment shortages and health risks among officers are worsening the crisis.
