The Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority has commissioned a new Aerodrome and Approach Simulator.
The new simulator is designed to strengthen airside operations, support increased air traffic activity, and enhance resilience of the aerodrome to meet current and future demands.
Transport Minister Eli Zakour said the move is a significant milestone in strengthening the nation’s aviation training capacities.
He added that the enhancements align with national transportation and development priorities, reflecting continued investment in critical aviation infrastructure that supports economic growth, regional connectivity, and public safety.
The upgrade includes: enhanced 3D Tower Simulator systems with the latest MaxSim FX software, two new Radar Simulator Suites with advanced visual, radar, and communication capabilities, expanded software for customizable radar airspace, advanced weather simulations, and updated visuals, and comprehensive staff training and long-term support
