The Caroni River, in the vicinity of the Piarco/St. Helena area, is currently at maximum capacity.
Local Government Minister and MP for the area Khadijah Ameen told 103.1FM News this morning, that despite this, she hopeful there will not be overflow.
Minister Ameen noted that while there have been reports of flooding in several areas, it was not as severe as the past.
She attributed this to the ongoing inter-ministerial flood mitigation works.
