Trinidad and Tobago women’s senior team will take on Jamaica women in an international friendly tonight at the Ato Boldon Stadium.

Damian Briggs has taken over as coach since the surprise resignation of Angus Eve last week.

He said the game provides a great opportunity to assess the level of preparation of his team ahead of CONCACAF W Championship qualifiers in November.

“It’s good for us because you always want to play teams of a higher level,” Briggs said.

“That gives you a good opportunity to judge where you are and benchmarks within certain things within the team.”

Briggs said he and his staff have had a fantastic three weeks with the women’s team.

“For myself and the rest of the staff, We’ve seen a massive change, improvement day in, day out,” he said.

The match begins at 8pm.

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association said yesterday it stood in solidarity with the people of Jamaica and stands ready to offer any support possible.
