The appointment of state boards continued today, with instruments of appointment presented for the National Commission for Self Help Limited.
The new Board will be chaired by Vishnu Ramlakhan, with Betty Doolarie Ramnarine as Vice Chairman.
The remaining directors are: Kerry Sumesar-Rai, Ishwar Muttoo, Nazeemool Mohammed, Denesha Nicholas, Vedya Mahabir, Keris Braxton, Elroy Brent Julien, Kenwyn Phillip, Alexei Julien, Peter Nero and Vidya Ramanand-Mohammed.
Addressing the new appointees was Culture Minister Michelle Benjamin, who reminded them of their responsibility to ensure the Commission continues to provide timely and effective support, especially to the most vulnerable.
Established in 1987 as a wholly owned State Enterprise, the NCSHL is a Non-Profit Organisation mandated to mobilise physical, financial and human resources to support self-help activities in communities across T&T.
