Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles-Robinson has criticized the government for allegedly reducing extra-duty payments and altering working conditions for workers without consultation.

Speaking at a media briefing on Wednesday, the Opposition Leader said that reclassifying these changes as “standardization” rather than pay cuts is misleading.

She said the net effect is that nurses are earning less due to the change.

Mrs Beckles Robinson highlighted reports of alleged intimidation during meetings with nursing leaders and warned that those actions are demoralizing to a vital workforce, which is already prone to migration.

The Opposition Leader called on government to clarify its policy, justify its decisions, and engage transparency to avoid escalating protests.
