Four teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17 have been held for enquirers into burglary and grievous sexual assault.
They were among seven arrested during a strategic intelligence-led anti-crime operation conducted early this morning in the Barrackpore Police District.
The TTPS says the exercise specifically targeting individuals connected to recent reports of home invasions, burglary, and grievous sexual assault within Barrackpore and surrounding environs.
Preliminary information suggests several are also directly linked to a series of home invasions and sexual assaults in the
Cumuto South Trace area of Barrackpore.
Those arrested were:
A 14-year-old student – Enquiries into burglary and grievous sexual assault.
A 15-year-old – Enquiries into burglary, grievous sexual assault, and possession of ammunition.
A 16-year-old student – Enquiries into burglary and grievous sexual assault.
A 17-year-old – Enquiries into burglary, grievous sexual assault, and possession of ammunition.
A 42-year-old man – To be charged with possession of ammunition.
A 45-year-old man – To be charged with possession of ammunition and firearm.
A 30-year-old man – Arrested on enquiries into burglary.
