Minister Saddam Hosein says 200 deeds of comfort have been distributed as part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to regularize squatters.
He made the announcement during yesterday’s post-Cabinet media briefing.
The Minister says that the process also is underway to regularize those granted state leases through the office of the Commissioner of State Lands.
Plans are being developed to improve efficiency and ensure titles and leases are issued more quickly.
He notes that a shortage of manpower at the Commissioner’s office has slowed progress, but assures the necessary steps are being undertaken to get the work going.
