Former Energy Minister Stuart Young says the Government has a long road ahead to revive the Dragon gas deal with Venezuela.
Speaking at a PNM media conference yesterday, Mr Young claimed the Government is attempting to mislead the population as to the realities of bringing the deal to fruition.
He said the current administration now has to apply to the Office of Foreign Assets Control in the US and wait on the terms of the license.
Mr Young added that negotiations must then be held with Venezuela with which members of the UNC have been spoken out against.
He also claimed the UNC sabotaged the Dragon deal with its “posturing” even before the negotiations with Venezuela could begin.
