Former Minister Stuart Young is criticizing what he describes as the Government’s “unacceptable” handling of the ongoing EMBD matter.
The lawsuits, in which a sitting Minister has been named as a defendant, relate to contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars that were awarded just weeks before the 2015 General Election.
Both the High Court and the Court of Appeal have ruled that the matters should proceed to trial.
In a Facebook post today, Mr Young claims the cases have stalled, saying that since May 2025 there has been a failure to provide instructions to move the matters forward.
He warns that this could jeopardize claims, adding that any actions which compromise the cases could amount to a breach of fiduciary duty and misbehaviour in public office.
