A woman has appeared in court charged with sexual offences against a minor.
The TTPS says the accused, who was employed as a babysitter, allegedly committed the offences against a 15-year-old girl.
She appeared before the Chaguanas Master’s Court on five counts of sexual penetration and was granted $125,000 bail.
The matter was adjourned to May 6th.
The accused also appeared before the Couva Master’s Court on two additional counts of sexual penetration – she was granted $100,000 bail and ordered to reappear on October 9th.
Meanwhile in other incidents:
- A 47-year-old man from San Francique was charged with one count of sexual touching and one count of sexual penetration, stemming from an incident alleged to have occurred on August 15th, 2026. He appeared before Master Kimitria Gray of the South Master’s Court and was granted $85,000 bail. A sufficiency hearing is set for September 11th, 2026.
- A 25-year-old man from Barrackpore was charged with two counts of sexual penetration, allegedly committed between October 25th and 26th, 2024. He appeared before Master Sarah De Silva of the South Court and was granted $150,000 bail.
- A 30-year-old man appeared before Master Persadsingh of the South Master’s Court, charged with three counts of sexual touching. He was granted $200,000 bail. The matter was transferred to the Siparia Magistrates’ Court and is scheduled to be heard on February 25th, 2026.
- A 21-year-old man from Endeavour was charged with seven counts of sexual penetration, stemming from incidents alleged to have occurred between August 1st, 2024 and February 30th, 2025. He appeared before the Chaguanas Master’s Court and was granted $100,000 bail. A sufficiency hearing is set for April 29th, 2026.
- One man was arrested for choking a victim following a heated argument. The accused appeared before Master Aida Mohammed on February 5th, 2026, and granted $100,000 bail. A sufficiency hearing is scheduled for June 3rd, 2026.
The arrests were made by the Special Victims Department during a recent “Operation Beacon” exercise conducted across several divisions.
