A woman attempting to board a Caribbean Airlines flight to St Kitts has been arrested for possession of cocaine and a quantity of cash.
Around 10:55am on Monday, a Woman Estate Constable was operating a security checkpoint scanner at the Piarco Airport, when a woman from Carenage entered the machine.
After detecting anomalies, the woman was physically searched and found to have a pink balloon strapped around her waist.
This allegedly held 17 pellets containing 281.5 grams of cocaine.
The woman’s carry-on bag was also found to contain US$5,189 and TT$30.
