West Indies beat Bangladesh by 14 runs in the second T20I at Chattogram, to take the series 2-0 with a game to spare.

Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd took three wickets apiece as West Indies limited the hosts to 135 in search of 150 for victory.

Earlier, Alick Athanaze and Shai Hope hit half-centuries to power the West Indies to 149 for 9.

West Indies won the first game by 16 runs on Monday, the team’s first series win in seven tries.

West Indies captain Shai Hope said the series win will definitely lift the mood of the team.

“We always talk about coming here and doing well in these conditions. Something to take from this tour. We want to finish 3-0 and go to New Zealand on a high,” Hope said,

Player of the Match Shepherd said it was important for the team to start well with the ball.

“We knew if we bowled well in the middle, it would be tough at the end. It was a small total so there was no room for error,” he said.

The final match of the series is on 31 October.
