Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed a three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates next January.
The series will kick off on January 19 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, with the second and third matches scheduled for January 21 and 22 at the same venue.
CWI’s Director of Cricket, Miles Bascombe, described the series as an important preparation platform ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.
“Facing strong opposition in subcontinental conditions will help us sharpen our combinations and approach, and build player confidence,” he said.
Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO, Naseeb Khan, echoed the sentiment, noting that competing against West Indies offers an excellent opportunity for his team to finalize their lineup and enhance preparations for the global tournament.
The series promises high-intensity T20 action and valuable game time for both sides as they gear up for the T20 World Cup.
