The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has issued a notice to customers regarding reduced water production at the Desalcott plant, citing challenges with raw water supply.

The temporary reduction is expected to affect several areas across Trinidad, including Caroni, Chaguanas, Couva, San Fernando, La Brea, Siparia, Fyzabad, and nearby communities.

WASA is urging residents to use water prudently and to ensure they have an adequate supply stored during periods of limited service.

The Authority is also advising customers that truck-borne water can be requested if needed, and further updates will be provided as the situation develops.

Residents can contact WASA’s Customer Contact Centre, toll-free, at 800-4420/26 for assistance or more information.

Officials say they are working closely with Desalcott to monitor the situation and manage available resources.

The goal is to return operations to normal as quickly as possible, ensuring safe and reliable water service for all affected communities.
