Venezuelan lawmakers have approved a sweeping new mining bill aimed at attracting foreign investment.
The legislation, introduced under acting president Delcy Rodríguez, seeks to regulate an industry long plagued by illegal activity and criminal groups.
It establishes mining categories, protects investors through independent arbitration, and bars senior government officials from holding mining titles.
The bill now heads to the high court for constitutional review.
The move follows major political changes earlier this year, including the removal of former president Nicolás Maduro.
