The UWI Guild of Students is reportedly hosting a special meeting today, for members to voice their opinions on the impending increase in tuition fees by 20 percent.
The increase, which was first approved back in 2023 by the University, was subsequently deferred for the first semester of this upcoming academic year.
President of the Guild Vedanand Hargobin says the Campus Principal issued a release on August 14th concerning the implementation of this increase.
He said while the University may require additional resources, continuing students should not be asked to bear the immediate burden without adequate support and preparation.
