The United States has increased its reward to up to five million dollars for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Giovanni Vicente Mosquera Serrano, a senior leader of the violent transnational gang Tren de Aragua.
Mosquera Serrano is accused of directing global drug-trafficking and financial operations for the group, which the U.S. designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization earlier this year.
He is now the first member of the gang to appear on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List.
Mosquera Serrrano faces multiple indictments in Texas for international cocaine trafficking and providing material support to a terrorist group.
The U.S. Treasury has also expanded sanctions, blacklisting Mosquera Serrano and 11 additional associates tied to the gang’s narco-terror network.
