The U.S. Embassy in T&T is limiting its social media activity in the midst of a partial Government shutdown.
In a Facebook post over the weekend, it said that the account will not be updated until full operations resume, with the exception of urgent safety and security information.
It adds that scheduled passport and visa services will continue “as the situation permits”.
Similar posts have been shared by accounts for U.S. Embassies in other countries as well.
The partial shutdown began on Saturday despite a funding deal being approved by the Senate.
That’s because it must also be approved by the House of Representatives, which is not in session until today.
