The Counter Trafficking Unit of the Ministry of Homeland Security has arrested a man and rescued four Venezuelan women from a property on Fraser Street, Rio Claro.
The Unit reported that 42-year-old Ryan Mark has been detained under a Preventive Detention Order.
Two teenagers were among the four women rescued; who authorities said showed signs of prolonged abuse and severe exploitation.
Six other Venezuela nationals were also found, with two women now held as persons of interest.
The operation was conducted after weeks of surveillance and intelligence from INTERPOL.
The rescued women are receiving care and protection through the Unit’s support services.
Officials urge the public to report suspected cases through the CTU hotline at 800-4CTU.
