Newly-elected TTUTA president Crystal Ashe says he has received positive feedback on the presence of police in schools.

He told the CNC3 that TTUTA agrees in principle with anything that would enhance or better protect teachers, students, and other staff on the school compound.

Mr Ashe says that in the absence of data on the effectiveness of the program from the Ministry of Education, TTUTA has adopted a wait-and-see policy on the matter.

He says that the police in schools in program was established in September and TTUTA hopes to get a clearer picture of the issue by the end of the school term in December.
