T&T’s government has reportedly agreed to award ExxonMobil acreage in an ultra-deep area to explore for oil and gas.
According to an exclusive report by Reuters, the agreement for seven blocks was confirmed to it by two senior government officials.
The parties allegedly began negotiations earlier this year for the areas off the east coast, which ExxonMobil left more than 20 years ago.
The report adds that ExxonMobil and T&T’s government could sign the agreement as soon as next week.
