The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says a 60-year-old hiker was safely guided out of the Northern Range thanks to the quick response of the TTPS Coastal and Air Support Unit.
The distress call came in around 7 pm on Thursday, March 26th, prompting a coordinated search with the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service Santa Cruz Search and Rescue Team.
Using police drone technology, the hiker was located and safely escorted from the forest.
ASP (Ag.) Rampallard urged hikers to plan ahead, share routes, carry essentials, stay on marked trails, and consider hiring qualified guides for forested hikes.
The operation was sanctioned by DCP Operations Suzette Martin, coordinated by ACP Tactical Support Collis Hazel, and directly supervised by ASP (Ag.) Rampallard.
