T&TEC workers at the Distribution North, Wrightson Road compound downed tools this morning to protest poor working conditions.
Speaking with 103.1FM News, OWTU representative for the T&TEC Port of Spain Branch, Darren Garner, raised concerns about potholes on the compound and a mosquito infestation at a workshop in the yard.
He said the workers removed themselves from the unsafe work environment for these reasons.
He added that T&TEC’s management has since given a verbal assurance to resolve the issues, leading the workers to return to duty.
