Trinidad and Tobago will be present at the 2026 Commonwealth Law Ministers Meeting due to be held in Fiji.
This announcement came via a statement from the Commonwealth, which says the event will see a gathering of ministers and attorneys general from February 9th to 12th.
It says law ministers will discuss how strong legal safeguards protect everyday life, from people’s ability to participate in democracy and earn a fair living, to their right to live in safe and healthy communities.
Ministers are also expected to agree on practical measures to advance the rule of law by improving access to justice and strengthening legal institutions that support stable societies, fair economies and environmental protection.
It adds that the meeting’s outcomes will help shape the agenda for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting to be held in Antigua and Barbuda later this year.
The statement did not say who would be attending the event to represent T&T.
