A T&T national was extradited to the US to face federal charges in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Shurlan Guppy was under investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) since 2019 and was arrested in September 2023 at a house in Goodwood Park.
The 47-year-old is wanted in the US on 11 charges of distributing, conspiracy to distribute, and the attempted distribution of approximately US$1 million worth of cocaine and heroin.
A Magistrate approved Guppy’s extradition in July 2024, and while he appealed the matter, it was dismissed by an Appeal Court judge on March 25, 2025.
He was flown to the US on Monday escorted by Deputy Marshals from the United States Marshals Service and Special Agents from the DEA.
