Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro is again warning criminals not to challenge police officers.
This comes after a man was killed during a confrontation with police in Laventille on Monday morning.
Officers responded to a report of armed men at Mc Shine Lines, where the suspects allegedly challenged officers after being called upon to surrender.
The officers engaged both suspects – one was later pronounced dead at hospital.
The Top Cop also renewed his call for criminals to surrender their illegal weapons, which can be done by calling the nearest police station, 999 or 555, and informing the police of the location.
