A Tobago man has been detained in connection with yesterday’s jet-ski fatality at Pigeon Point Heritage Park.
The incident, which claimed the life of 7-year-old Angelica Jogie of Barrackpore, also left her father hospitalized.
103.1FM News understands the 32-year-old suspect was taken into custody at Canaan Feeder Road around 12:30 this morning.
He is said to be a labourer and jet ski operator.
Speaking at a media conference last night, THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine called on the jet-ski operator, who fled the scene after the incident, to surrender to police.
He also confirmed that Buccoo Marine Park, which includes Pigeon Point Heritage Park, would remain closed today, to facilitate ongoing investigations.
