The Tobago House of Assembly says there is no shift in policy on the use of Cuban medical professionals in Tobago.
In a video statement, Dr Faith Brebnor, the Secretary for Health in Tobago, says the THA will continue to recruit and employ Cuban professionals once they are legally allowed to work in Trinidad and Tobago.
“The Tobago Regional Health Authority routinely recruits health professional from all over the world. They simply need to be able to legally work in Trinidad and Tobago, once they are recruited. We will continue doign that,” she said.
“That of course, includes medical professionals from Cuba as long as they are legally allowed to be employed in Trinidad and Tobago. the Tobago Regional Health Authority will continue recruiting as we go along.”
