A group of ten pundits from T&T will be in India in December for a month-long intensive training programme at the prestigious Banaras Hindu University in Kashi.

The initiative follows commitments made during the visit of India’s Prime Minister to Trinidad and Tobago in July.

The course aims to strengthen knowledge of Sanatana Dharma traditions, preparing participants to better lead and guide their communities in ancient Indian cultural and civilisational values.

The training includes foundational instruction in Vedic intonation of mantras and bhakti-tradition pujas.

It forms part of a three-month certification—one month already completed online, with another month to follow when the group returns home.

The pandits will also travel to Haryana later this month to take part in the International Gita Mahotsav, one of India’s major spiritual festivals.
