Guyana’s CARIFTA team is set to depart for Grenada, with high hopes for a strong showing this weekend.
Twenty-four athletes will represent the nation at the Games, joined by overseas-based teammates ahead of competition at the Kirani James Athletics Stadium.
Minister Steven Jacobs is urging the team to perform with pride and discipline, both on and off the field, as they carry the nation’s expectations.
Guyana won five medals in 2025, with Tianna Springer winning the country’s sole gold medal in retaining her 400m sprint title.
Springer will bid for a third straight 400m title in Grenada.
