A fire at the Beetham Landfill has been contained, however smoke is still affecting surrounding areas, including Port of Spain.
As such, SWMCOL is advising caution for those with respiratory conditions, particularly when travelling along the Beetham Highway.
The blaze, which started around 9:55PM yesterday, spread across the eastern side of the landfill, but was brought under control by the Fire Services by 12:30 this morning.
The company says work is continuing to address and resolve the situation.
