The debate to address barriers faced by persons with disabilities in Trinidad and Tobago continues in the Senate this afternoon.
The motion, from Senator Alicia Lalite-Ettienne, highlights ongoing challenges, including limited access to jobs, education, housing, and public infrastructure.
It also points to gaps in services and facilities that contribute to continued social and economic exclusion.
The proposal calls for Government to deliver, within 12 months, a comprehensive national strategic plan and supporting legislation to reduce these barriers and expand participation in public life.
