Chutney soca veteran Rikki Jai is expressing gratitude after placing third at the Calypso Monarch 2026 Finals.
Reflecting on his journey, Rikki Jai said his song “Doh Spoil Meh Name” carries a powerful message about the choices we make, the responsibility we bear and the legacy we protect.
He thanked supporters for standing with him and promised that there is more to come.
Born Samraj Jaimungal, Rikki Jai made his debut in 1988 with the hit single, “Sumintra.”
He has won several Chutney Soca Monarch titles and tied (with Bunji Garlin) for the TUCO Young King title in 2001.
Rikki Jai received the Humming Bird Medal Gold in 2012 and was awarded an honorary doctorate in fine arts from the University of Trinidad and Tobago.
