Fifteen countries across Latin America and the Caribbean have come together to strengthen wildfire prevention and response through an Integrated Fire Management approach.
The meeting, held at the FAO’s regional office in Santiago, Chile, brought together experts and officials to share experiences and strategies aimed at reducing wildfire risks, protecting biodiversity, and improving land management.
Supported by the FAO, IDB, GIZ, and international development agencies, the workshop highlighted the need for coordinated regional policies and stronger institutional cooperation to build more resilient communities amid rising wildfire threats.
