The prisoner who died, by apparent suicide in his cell at the Port of Spain Prison. on Sunday has been identified as Kelvin Wallace.
According to a T&T Express report, the 35-year-old prisoner was in remand for the 2013 murder of police officer Sargeant Hayden Manwaring.
He one of four arrested for the fatal shooting of the Sargeant while he responded to a robbery in San Fernando.
Wallace had also previously claimed to have been beaten in prison, for which he was awarded $75,000 last year.
