President Kangaloo Opens UTT Graduation as University Honours National Trailblazers

President Christine Kangaloo, in her role as Chancellor of the University of Trinidad and Tobago, presided over the opening session of UTT’s 2025 Presentation of Graduates ceremonies on Tuesday at the Lord Kitchener Auditorium.

During the ceremony, UTT awarded honorary doctorates to Jamwant Maharaj, Peter Elias, and Senior Counsel Israel Rajah-Khan for their outstanding contributions in science, the arts, culture, and law.

Cultural advocate Gilman Figaro was also named an Honorary Distinguished Fellow.

Across the three-day event, the university is celebrating the accomplishments of roughly 1,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students from a wide range of disciplines.
